We deliver a holistic health, fitness and well-being programme for people experiencing homelessness, who live in hostels or are vulnerably housed, temporary accommodation or bed and breakfast.
Our programme aims to reduce social isolation, improve mental health as well as address long term physical health needs of our participants.
This includes health and well-being workshops that are around suicide prevention, peer support, health diet and nutrition.
We are supported by Edinburgh leisure who deliver comprehensive indoor fitness classes weekly. This involves indoor Circuits, high intensity resistance based exercise at the Royal Commonwealth pool.
We deliver our own outdoor classes at Edinburgh Meadows keeping the participants focused on the positive side of life while getting Fitter and Healthier. These sessions are fun, friendly and free. We also run beach camps in the summertime.
The fitness sessions are tough going, professionally run, you are pushed beyond your thinking. We use physical fitness sessions to promote better mental health in the individuals we support. Engaging in our programme promotes team work, behavioural change, better communication with others and strengthens social skills, confidence and self-esteem.
Coming soon, our indoor sessions will include, Zumba, Walking groups and Running groups.
Our Fitness classes are run by our own personal trainers/coaches. These are delivered in local gyms, community halls outdoor spaces including the beach in the summertime.
