Get involved with the Street Fit Scotland Community. We especially welcome those who are going through a tough time – be that through substance issues, poverty, or those who are feeling strained by mental health, people experiencing or who are affected by homelessness. We also welcome our referring partners working to help people overcome these problems to join our classes when they accompany a new start.
We understand it can be a little daunting to start exercising for the first time and participate in groups. Do not let this stop you trying out all our amazing sessions and do not think that you are not capable all our sessions are adapted individually and to groups we support.
We understand it can be a little tough starting exercise for the first time or after a long time, but you will only find fun, gentle encouragement and welcoming arms at Street Fit Scotland.
All our sessions and activities are fun, free, and fantastic. This includes group lunch catch ups. We ensure that we provide a nutritional healthy lunch at our community base after most sessions to re-energise you.
Peer led conversations around general health, substance issues and topics that you choose to discuss; Staff are always there to ensure that your voice is heard. This is a great opportunity to book a 1 to 1 with our support staff.
Once you start regularly engaging you will be provided with SFS sports clothing, a water bottle, and sports bag. You can find regular updates on our activities on our Facebook page.
The referral process is easy, you can self-refer or be referred by any organisation that supports you in Edinburgh. Drop us an email or call us and we will set up a book-in that suits you. You will sit with one of our staff team and they will support you to complete a referral form, Parq (health questionnaire), mandate form giving us permission or not to use your photos on our social media platform. This may sound like a lot of paperwork but only takes around 30 minutes to complete. Once complete you can start engaging with us straight away. You will receive daily and weekly text messages to encourage you to stay active.
